This piece was created by Merritt and her Dragon (a mobile glassblowing studio) located in her backyard.
Each orb is a single gather of glass which allows it to be very light. There is a gather of clear glass then the orb is coated with a transparent multi frit mix and a dab of white on the bottom. It is heated up and the blown into a shere, the orb is hit off of the blowpipe and a clear hook is applied to the top to finish it off.
