This piece was created by Merritt and her Dragon (a mobile glassblowing studio) located in her backyard. Pumpkins are one of her favorite things to create. This piece has an orange coloring with a green stem. Each pumpkin is placed in an optic mold while really hot to form the curves of a pumpkin. Then it is blown out to the desired size, the bottom is flattened and hit off of the blowpipe. Then a hot gather of glass is pressed into an optic mold and placed on the top of the pumpkin, stretched and wrapped around a metal rod to give a curly stem.
